All About Trident

The real fun begins once you’re in the water! Trident recently launched in 2021with the aim to prevent drownings while teaching the sport of lifesaving to all its members.

Trident was founded with three core values which aim to make the club inclusive and allow for the development of our members while they have fun.

Tenacity

The quality of being very determined while having the moral strength to resist opposition, danger, or hardship.

Through drowning prevention, competition, and lifesaving service, Trident and it's members show great courage and persistence both in the pool at galas and at patrols and events where lifeguards are needed.

Community Garden

Community

The spirit of friendship and positive interaction between our members and other stakeholders.

Trident community, this is the members of the club and the well-being and support that Trident and its members offer, as well as the role played in one’s natural growth and time as a lifeguard are unmatched

The Bryanston community supports Trident in its aims to teach our surrounding area about water safety, lifesaving and swimming skills, and to nurture personal growth.

In the lifesaving community, the friendships, positivity, connection with other clubs, and service to our community are valued and enjoyed by all.

Team Meeting

Comradery

The spirit of friendship and positive interaction between our members and other stakeholders.

We as a founding committee value transparency, accountability, and teamwork in everything that the club does while making our core focus member engagement and having fun.

Competitions

The primary goal of the lifesaving sport is to assist lifesavers to learn, maintain, and improve the basic physical and mental abilities required to save lives in the water. A number of activities are included in lifesaving contests to help improve and display lifesaving skills, fitness, and motivation.

Lifesaving Patrolling

Lifesaving Patrolling

Patrols are the reason lifesaving exists!

One of the most satisfying things you can do for yourself, your family, and your community is to become a lifesaver. While patrolling, you’re not only keeping the public safe, you’re also forming lifelong relationships and friendships.

Drowning prevention

In partnership with Lifesaving South Africa, we implement a water safety programme which aims to teach the youth about correct safety in and around water and raise awareness around drowning.

As a patron of Lifesaving South Africa, Trident is passionate about educating and equipping people about water safety.

Drowning is the third leading cause of unintentional injury and deaths across the world! It is a silent killer – and very deadly for young children in particular.
